Ranulph Horne is a young British artist & designer, whose practice has been based in the south East of England for the last ten years. Although primarily a printmaker after studying at Brighton University, Ranulph's practice has always stemmed from his original photographs and illustrations. "My inspiration has always come from my local surroundings and environment. Nature, the sea and the variety of cultures that surround me continue to play an ever lasting and important role in my work." A common motif can be frequently found in the form of bold contrasts, statement patterns and playful textures, all residing harmoniously in time. Certainly the most interesting attribute is the entropy and temporal quality of Horne's content, further emphasising the contemporary polarities he seeks to display.
