Alexis Gorodine

Alexis Gorodine was born in 1954 in the parish of Malicorne-sur-Sarthe in France. After previously training to be a civil engineer he then held a job in the planning office of Fort-de-France, the capital of France's Caribbean overseas department on the island of Martinique. In 1972, Gorodine decided to pursue creative talents and enrolled in an engraving course at Calevaert-Louis Brun in Paris. At this point his career went from strength to strength, with Gorodine gaining inspiration and resource material from extensive travel in Europe, Africa, the Americas North and South, Caracas and Venezuela during the years of 1977-1982.
