The English photographer Ben Wood started his career at the age of twenty-one following in the footsteps of his great-grandfather who ran a portrait studio in Baker Street, London. After a few years assisting photographers such as David Bailey and Don Freeman, Ben struck out on his own running a studio in Bleeding Heart Yard, London.
Ben is best known for his signature sepia marine work but he has diversified widely since joining Trowbridge in 2003 and now has an impressive selection of work encompassing classic motor-racing, horse racing, landscapes and his highly successful shell series.
Having moved out of London in 2000, Ben Wood is now based at his studio in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight. Living on the island with its beautiful landscape and world class sailing at Cowes both inspires and informs Ben's ever evolving portfolio. Ben Wood exhibits widely and has recently shown his equine photography at Gallery 54 in Mayfair, London and the Apremont Polo Club in Paris, France.
