Olivier Moriette was born in 1978 in France. He graduated from the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1999 with graduate and post-graduate degrees in engraving. Whilst training in some of the best Paris workshops, including the Old Gallery of the Temple and the Salon de Montrouge, Moriette perfected his printmaking techniques, while also being able to indulge his love for painting and engraving. Moriette's work is playful in its use of lines, colours and scale, creating landscapes that the viewer is free to interpret. Moriette describes the nature of engraving as very specific, a process that cannot be rushed with an essential and true development.
