TROWBRIDGE - Erró - A Travers III - Fineart Collection - ER2

Product Code: ER2

A Travers III

Artist: Erró

This specific product (ER2): Pop! Goes your idea of traditional visual arts and, Bang! Erró has created an explosion of colour and a comic book-like narrative complete with story telling and drama. Erró, born with the name Gudmundur Gudmundsson is an Icelandic artist, famed for his humorous and twisted play on mass consumerism and media domination. Since the 1960’s he has mined pop culture as an endless source of content for his works, that could in some ways be classified as a regurgitated version of reality. Erró is quoted as saying, “By dealing with daily events, I try to interpret the present, a short period of time in the life of the society, before it enters total oblivion.” With comparisons to Lichenstien and Warhol, Erró’s continued reassembling and transforming of pictures blurs the line between reality and fiction, as well as the irony in taking imagined media and reimagining it all over again.
