TROWBRIDGE - Andrea Malär - Noir et Gris II - Tg Collection - AM2
Product Code: AM2
Noir et Gris II
Artist: Andrea Malär
This specific product (AM2):
Swiss artist Andrea Malär was born in 1947 in the city of Chur. Malär didn't originally consider himself an artist and instead had a career in electronic manufacturing. Photography had been a hobby for many years, along with sculptural work but it wasn't until 1994 that Malär deeply engaged himself as a professional artist. Having spent years acquiring sculptural skills that included ceramics, metal work and wood carving, the translation of those three dimensional monoliths to printed works came naturally and easily. There is a very clear symbiosis between sculpture and simple graphic compositions. Clear and bold areas of light and dark offer a depth and illusion of space on what would otherwise be a flat surface. The technique of etching as well as the high quality hot-pressed Rives paper gives the printed object an exquisite textured surface that truly enhances the striking design.
